A Travellerspoint blog

What You've All Been Waiting For

sunny 26 °C

So nearly 2 YEARS after the first post, here is the last - THE BLOG IS NOW A BOOK!!!!!!

I've spent so many hours assimilating my diary from the 12 months leading up to the trip, formatting the blog to make it fit, and adding the journal I've been keeping since we returned to 'finish' the story - it almost took more planning than the trip itself! I'm so pleased with the result, have a look:

Four Go RTW - The Edmeads Family Adventures

Thank you all soooooo much for all your support and encouragement via the Travellerspoint portal - you really have no idea how much it's meant to us having you all along for the amazing ride.
See ya
All love CRFS xxxx

Hello -- congratulations on exporting your blog to a book. I just purchased it because our family is embarking on a RTW journey, and we hope to do a lot of writing and photography along the way while also "road schooling" our kids (ages 11 and 8). I look forward to gaining advice and inspiration from your book, and I would greatly appreciate any feedback you have on our blog and itinerary; you can check it out at http://away-together.com.
Sincerely,

Wow...You turned your blog into a book!!! If I wasn't on the road myself, I'd buy it right now :) Is it self-published or did you get a publisher? I'm all ears because I'd love to do this myself some day (I'm a writer by trade, as it happens...).

I've been meaning to thank you for the comments on my blog (Rymans At Large) and the recent tip about the left luggage -- that will be our plan exactly, so thanks! I have a question for you but have lost track of your non-travellerspoint email address so I'll just ask it here: Laos. Should we go or not? Seems a lot more daunting than anything else we've got planned but could also be a highlight. We're really only brave enough to tackle Vientiane and Louang Prabang, with maybe Vang Vieng in between. We're considering crossing from Chiang Mai via the 3-day Mekong River trip. Is that insane? Give me the straight-up truth, LOL: Do you recommend Laos with kids and if so, any thoughts on the best way to do it? Thanks so much! You can also email a reply to ryan.patti@gmail.com.
